This event is to be run in conjunction with the International Cross Country Races and represents a fantastic opportunity for participants to experience competing in a unique sporting environment

Details:

• 6 runners per team which will consist of 3 girls and 3 boys
• First 2 girls and 2 boys to count
• A certificate for each pupil and each school participating
• A trophy for the winners
• Prize money and medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams and 1st, 2nd and 3rd individual in each race
• Will be run on grass - suitable for spikes
• Approx distance - 2k

Yr7/8 Girls Futsal Entry Form

Saturday 1st and Sunday the 2nd of November 2008. Held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

The Gateshead Kestrels co-ordinated by the Cedars Sports College took a squad of 7 swimmers who qualified for this event. The swimmers were Stephanie Moore, Claire Walker, Sarah Stevenson, Samantha Neill, Sam Fawcus, Josef Craig and Matthew Reader.

Swimming at the competition were all British Swimmers who had so successfully represented Great Britain at the Bejing Paralympics.

The standard of competition was extremely high with 15 new world records being set.

Our swimmers did exceptionally well with all achieving personal best times in their events.
Claire Walker won 2 bronze medals for 50m and 100m backstroke. Matthew Reader achieving gold, silver and bronze medals in 50m and 100m breaststoke, 50m and 100m backstroke and 50m and 100m freestyle. Samantha Neill won gold and silver in 50m and 100m backstroke and 50 m freestyle.

Well done everyone!!!

Congratulations to Samantha Neill for being awarded Gateshead's Young Sports Achiever of the year!!!
