Staff from almost all of Gateshead's Secondary schools took part in a training workshop last week, where they learnt how to register pupils onto the Concept2 website and take part in the online National Schools League.
The league is a nationwide Indoor Rowing tournament open to all schools. Last season, over 27000 participants in just under 3000 teams competed across the country. Upon registration, each school can enter as many teams as they like from any year group. Teams can consist of either 4 or 8 member, with different challenges being set each month. In total, there are 6 monthly challenges with the first challenge deadline today (Monday 6th October 2008).
The key benefits of participating in the league are:
- Open to all abilities
- Rewards perseverance
- Inter-school competition without leaving school
- Proof of pupil participation across the year
Following the submission date of each challenge, all school results will be uploaded and used to formulate a Gateshead only League. Battle it out over the course of the year to become the top school in Gateshead!
