A reward day was held on Thursday 10th July 2008. The purpose of the day was to reward pupils involved in the Girls Active project for their hard work and effort in making this project a success within their schools. The day comprised of 2 key elements; an 'activity' session in the morning and a 'pamper' session in the afternoon.
Activities took take place at Causey Arch and consisted of Climbing, Problem Solving & Mountain Biking. The Pamper session took place at Newcastle College where the Girls were given access to leisure facilities including a fitness suite and exclusive access to a spa area.
This project has been a fantastic success this year and will be run again during 2008/09. Thanks go out to all those involved in supporting this initiative within schools and in particular to Gateshead's Sport and Physical Activity Development Team.
