Football Coaching
Year 5 and 6 girls are enjoying footballl coaching sessions every thursday evening with coach Robbie. The girls have been learning football skills, playing mini games and gaining a deeper understanding of the game.
The girls work extremely hard with Robbie and practise their learned skills during playtimes and lunchtimes.
Girls Football
Sixteen Year 6 girls at Kells Lane Primary School are currently undergoing a series of 10 football training sessions, under the supervision of coach, Robbie Pringle. These sessions are proving to be extremely popular and the girls are showing great improvement in their skills and techniques. These will be put to the test in the forthcoming tournament in June.
We are also looking forward to the completion of our new ball court, which will enable us to have much better facilities to enable our children to experience a wide range of sports in a safer environment.
Extra Curricular Cricket
Harlow Green Junior School are currently running an after school cricket club. The club takes place on a Thursday night for an hour and a half and 24 children attend.
At the first session children were taught how to stop a moving ball, return a throw to the wicket keeper and catch cleanly. All of the children really enjoyed the session and are looking forward to the next one. Hopefully the practice will pay off in the cricket festivals this year.
Gateshead schools premier league - final standings
Congratulations to all the pupils who represented their schools in the recent 7 a side premier league matches that took place over the past weeks at Glynwood school. The standard of football was extremely high in each game and all the pupils played the game in the correct spirit.
A particular well done to the younger pupils who represented Dunston Riverside when their first team were unavailable for their match against Oakfield.
The teams taking part included Dunston Riverside, Wardley, Oakfield and the hosts Glynwood.
